Colour photographs of narrowboat traffic at the time that the Canal Museum was founded in spring 1963
The majority of these photographs appear to have been taken in autumn 1963 when the Canal Museum was but a few months old, having opened in April of that year. At the same time, British Waterways had decided to abandon most of its canal carrying fleet in the South East (Winter 2011 NB) leaving Willow Wren as one of the few operators of long distance traffic on the Grand Union Canal.…
