Horse Drawn Narrowboat Demonstration at Lion Saltworks

Sue Day and Bonny of the Horsedrawn Boat Society visited Lion Salt Works on 22 June 2004 to demonstrate the art of towing narrowboats by horses. Horses were used to tow narrowboats for 200 years, but the canal network is now so used to motor powered boats it is no longer possible to use horses on large stretches of the canal network.
