Referring to the above article (NB Spring, p16), there are three pictures of Towy which show some sort of rope affair on the ram’s head. Does anyone know the purpose of this? It looks too short to be a mooring line. I was always led to believe a line around the tiller pin/ram’s head was ‘taboo’, the line being stored on the slide the majority of the time. Ray Thorp…
