For readers who have been using NB’s online archive or thumbing through back issues of the magazine, I would like to point out a correction in my Spring 2013 ‘Canals That Never Were’ article on ‘Waterway Around Middlewich’. In the piece I referred to the original Trent & Mersey lock in Middlewich as a two-rise staircase, but I have now seen it marked on an original survey with three chambers and referred to as the ‘Treble Locks’.
