May I say what a splendid article your latest issue (NB Autumn 2019) carried on the salt industry at Droitwich and the Corbett family, penned by Andy Tidy. The Corbetts also have a connection with Tywyn in Mid Wales as John Corbett invested there as well. In fact, I think the hotel-bar, the Corbett Arms, may have a connection with the family, as well as other buildings in the town. Tywyn has a large connection with transport preservation as it was there that the Talyllyn Railway came to be preserved back in the early 1950s. I used to go to the Droitwich brine baths in the 1960s and early ’70s with my late mother. Quite an experience – the brine baths not my mother! Chris Holloway, by email…
